Houses take between 1 and 4 hours to scan, deepening on square footage. A good rule of thumb is about 2.5 hours for a 4,000 sq. ft. house. A condo is likely closer to 1.5 hours. A bigger, 7,500 sq. ft. house could take 3 to 4 hours.
3D models are processed and posted to the virtual tour within 36 hours.
Yes. We can stagger the start times of a photo shoot and 3D scan session so that they occur in one, extended visit to the home.
The finished 3D model is automatically embedded into your HomeVisit virtual tour, so the 3D model goes everywhere the tour goes: MRIS, Realtor.com, Broker web site, Agent web site, and more. HomeVisit can also provide a url for you to custom embed the 3D model directly into any site of your choosing.
The HomeVisit 3D Scan Technician uses a special motorized camera controlled by an iPad. The camera is placed throughout all rooms of the home. The number of placements can range from as low as 50 to over 200. At each location, the camera rotates 360-degrees, stopping 6 times to take images and measurements. Each placement takes about 1 minute to complete.
The camera has three separate elements: one looking up, one looking down and one looking straight ahead. The data from each location is transmitted to the iPad during the scan session. The evening of the scan session, the data is uploaded to a cloud server and by the next day, the completed model is ready and will be linked into your HomeVisit virtual tour.
You will receive an email from HomeVisit the day after the scan session notifying you that the 3D model is complete and including a link to your virtual tour with the 3D model embedded.
Please note that if you have not yet configured the virtual tour with photos, a single photo will be selected for you so that the HomeVisit system can show you the virtual tour with the 3D model included.
We will set the default state of your virtual tour to show the 3D model first. This way, when Buyers click the tour link from MRIS or Realtor.com, etc., the 3D model will be loaded first.
If you want to change the default state of the tour to Photography or HD Video instead, you can now control this in your HomeVisit Manage Listings View. There is a drop down menu for you to select your preferred default tour state.
Important: set the HomeVisit tour to the #1 position in MRIS Keystone. MRIS by default sets their photo slide show to be shown when Buyers click the Virtual Tour link on HomesDatabase.com. In Keystone, there is a “Tours” icon that looks like a video camera. Click that icon and you get a list of tours. Normally there are two shown. Select the HomeVisit tour and click the up arrow to move it to the top position and save.
